So Nick and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary this weekend. We’ve had the most beautiful years, learnt, experienced and grown so much together. We watched our wedding video yesterday morning with our children, it was captured by Nick’s cousin Andrew Luscombe (thank you Andrew :-)) but it hit me how important it is to have a video – you relive the atmosphere, the emotion, the speeches, and the party! You see how your special friends and family interacted and fed off the magical energy we had created. And your children get to see your wedding too, which is incredibly special for them.
Our vows to each other were so simple, yet they covered all the important aspects of any relationship - I affirm my love to you as I invite you to share my life. I promise always to respect you. With kindness, unselfishness and trust, I will work by your side to create a wonderful life together. Then Nick’s speech was one of my high lights – it was deep, meaningful, poetic, moving and bursting with love – and it was to me. About me. And about how I excite him and inspire him. That is exactly what a girl wants to hear. Really!
We had so much fun that night (14th March 2009), drank heaps of celebratory bubbles, laughed, danced all night long under an oak tree, and I clearly remember not wanting to leave!
And it’s all recorded on our video!
Sharing a few images – the one with the green door was taken where Olive Rock is today. Our dream was to create a space to share with others what we experienced, and it came true.
