It’s the time of my life where i revisit ‘the matric dance dress’ again. My daughter is in her final year of high school, it’s her special dance, and so of course we need that special dress. There are so many wonderful dress makers and designers out there. I see absolutely stunning dresses (wedding mainly) all the time! And there are so many styles to choose from.
So we embarked on the journey to find the right dress maker – one that gets Paige’s style, and one that gets my budget. And we have, im so excited to say found the right person. Her details were given to me by our lovely Bride Donna, whose dress my waiters could not stop talking about all night!
We met with Cara Jade Schutte on Monday afternoon. Lovely young girl, third year student at the Cape Town College of Fashion Design, from Plett who comes across as ‘the girl next door’ but has this wickedly creative mind that makes your jaw drop! Three of Cara’s dresses were chosen for the top 12 contestants of the Miss SA pageant this year, and the gorgeous Rolene Strauss was wearing one of them when she was crowned. She also received top 12 in the SA Fashion Week Student Competition 2013, the Black Fan dress was featured in a TRESemmé advert and in the Road to Miss SA television advert. Cara also has to design and make 12 dresses and 12 suits for the contestants of The Face of Miss Mahikeng and Mr. Mahikeng. Very lucky she accepted our dress with that on her plate.
We are so pleased to have met this talented young lady, who im sure is going to make a massive success of her future – she already has the beginning of her path perfectly set up. Cara loves making wedding dresses, so to all those looking for a wedding dress or any other special piece i highly recommend her. I will keep you posted with pictures of Paiges Bohemian hippie style dress. Such a special time for a mom!
Cara’s contact details are: firstname.lastname@example.org and 0837917100 and here are some her marvelous creations…..
